A boy receives Reiki on the top of the Cerro de la Estrella (Hill of the Star) pyramid, Iztapalapa, with Mexico City in the background, November 23, 2010. Reiki is a spiritual practice developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui. It uses a technique commonly called palm healing, using hands as a form of complementary and alternative medicine, classified as oriental medicine. Through the use of this technique, accompanied by meditation and massage skills, practitioners relieve patients using healing energy.
