The Colossi of Memnon, twin statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III,(1350BC). The statues are made of quartzite sandstone from a quarry at el-Gabal el-Ahmar and were to guard the entrance to his memorial temple. The statues are quite Luxor, Egypt
