They are ar-ranged, so that the furnace man, as soonas the heads are hot, can easily passthem over to the man on the stock is brought into the building ontrucks, the bars being from 10 to 14 feetlong. They first go through the shears,which cut them into desired lengths, acertain amount being allowed for mak-ing the head. These pieces are thenmoved in wheel barrows to the furnace,in which they are placed a sufficient dis-tance to allow the heads to become redhot.
