His quickcomprehension of the subjects under consideration, hislogical reasoning, and, above all, his acknowledged in-tegrity of jiurpose, gave him a marked influence withhis compeers. Mr. Rippey is an honored member ofthe Methodist Episcopal Church, with which he hasbeen connected forty years. By his liberality he hasadded much to its material prosperity. lie was mar-ried, August 3, 1826, to Jane P. Montgomery, of WayneCounty, Indiana.
