Memorial to the crewmen of the Rosslare Fort Lifeboat "James Stevens" & tugboat "Wexford" who rescued the "Mexico" in 1914.

Eleven crewmen of the Rosslare Fort Lifeboat "John Stevens" and six men from the tug "Wexford" which towed the lifeboat to the Keeragh islands Bannow Bay on For four days the life boatmen stood by, in an open boat, battling against the gales, sleet and mountainous seas before rescuing ten men from thw wrecked Norwegian Schooner, "Mexico". "The name of Fethard, Co Wexford, was changed to Fethard-on-Sea following a loss of life at sea when the lifeboat Helen Blake capsized in 1914 on a service mission to the schooner Mexico off the Keeragh Islands.
