Tourmaline schorl specimen. Tourmaline has a very complex and variable composition. The most common form is schorl or schorlite, shown here. This is a composite, doubly-terminated crystal, 9 centimetres across and 8 centimetres long. It includes a little limonite and crystals of apatite. This specimen is from Woolley Farm, near Bovey Tracey, Devon, UK.
