MiniiOKotu Meadow Feiirue. 4. MEADOW FESCUEâ/â ''â "'"'â M pnilrtiKisâWe regard this as one of the most valuable for several reasons. Chief among them is that it adapts Itself to different ..conditions of soil and cli- mate and does wi 11 ill i.\ . i ilie fnitid States and Canada, and is also highly valued and largely cul tivated laii M I . It gives a good amount of early and late feed of good ciuality, and lieavilyâfrom J to 1 Ions of hay per acre, which is of fine .|uality and very nutritious, and as a pas- ture grass it is iiarticularly valuable, as it is a most |)ersistent grower, and one of the earliest in spring and the latest In the fall. It never freezes out or winter-kills. It resists drought and cold winters and does not die out. It grows well on wet or dry bottoms, hillsides and tops, gravelly and loamy lands and clays, and having many fibrous roots running down H to l.'i Inches, resists the drought. We value it very highly and have about 40 acres of our farm sown with Meadow Fescue, â¢ind elsewhere it is also largely cultivated. Meadow Fescue is also known as ' Randall Grass," "Evergreen Grass" or "English Blue ; It i;n>ws about .! feet high, stools out well, but never grows In tufts, and flowers In June. About IN to 22 pounds of seed should be used per acre. Owing to the unusual short crop the seed Is higher priced than It has been, but it is not so dear that It cannot be sown largely on this account. We urge everyone to sow this most valuable grass, und If but one acre for trial, although 100 acres can be just as safely sown and good results expected. Prlce
