The heart of Pine Street was buoyant with people renewed their diligence. A minute of thecommittee records that the treasurer had, near thistime, invested a surplus of two thousand dollars ingovernment bonds at eight per cent. This is a verysignificant sidelight. Dr. Smith was received again into the Presbytery ofPhiladelphia in April, and installed in June, 1799.
