Aries constellation. Optical image of the constellation Aries, the Ram, the first of the twelve constellations or signs of the Zodiac. Its brightest star is 2nd magnitude Hamal, or alpha Arietis (centre right). Aries has been associated with the ram for at least 2000 years. The Greeks associated Aries with the story of the Argonauts and the Golden Fleece.
