Jackson, Mississippi - Mug shots of Freedom Riders, who were arrested in 1961 in Jackson for trying to integrate interstate bus transportation. The mug shots are on display at the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, together with a cell from the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman, where many were incarcerated. The museum focuses on the movement which upended politics and race relations in the state between 1945 and 1970.
