Stand up paddle surfing (also called stand up paddle boarding) is a favorite water sport on Barton Creek, a tributary that feeds the Colorado River as it flows through Texas Hill Country into Lady Bird Lake (formerly Town Lake) at Austin, Texas. Barton Creek hosts water recreation including kayaking, tubing, canoeing, dragon boats and swimming. It is the habitat for many indigenous species of flora and fauna, including at least 7 endangered species of plants.
