Another business change was effected when the Spokane Florist Co. declined to renew its lease on the room in the Davenport hotel, where the company has conducted a flower store since the hotel's opening three years ago. The place is now being conducted by the hotel's decorators. Gustav Peterson has come over from Seattle to assist at Donart's House of Flowers. He was well known in Seat- tle, having been with the Hollywood Gardens and Eosaia Bros., and later associated with his brother in the nurs- ery business. Kobert Briggs, for many years with the Hoyt Bros. Co., and later with E. S, Eugene, has decided to give up the flower business. "While on his vacation he took temporary employment at a lumber mill at Elk Eiver, Idaho. The wages and conditions there are so at- tractive that he has decided to remain there, at least until the big demand for lumber is over. L. B. H. WESTERLY, R. I. George L. Stillman is serving as a member of the grand jury at the Sep- tember session of the Superior court of Washington county. James Brenan, a well known rose grower and a former resident here, has returned with his family from Phila- delphia. S. J. Renter & Son, Inc., has practi- cally completed the benching for the new season. Conrad Schultz has conii)leted the renovation of his houses and has his benching completed. W. H. M.
