Female uro-genital system, artwork. The organs are shown in the relative positions they would occupy within the body. At top are the kidneys with the adrenal glands (yellow) on top. The left-hand kidney (at right in this view from the front) is seen in front of the spleen (dark red). The kidneys filter waste products from the blood, and excrete them as urine through the ureters (tubes) down to the bladder (lower centre) and urethra (below bladder). Above the bladder is the uterus, with a Fallopian tube and ovary (yellow) on each side, including the ovarian ligaments.
