The fabulous village of Mijas with its whitewashed buildings, churches, bullring, museums, public gardens and shops is a mecca for tourists to visit


Mijas is one of the most beautiful 'white' villages of the Southern Spain area called Andalucia. It is in the Alpujarra mountains above the coast this is where Moorish people originally from North Africa who ruled Andalucia for 9 centuries. At Mijas there is a small bullring and regular bullfights are staged here and there is also a museum of bullfighting. The village is built on the side of the mountain and is very picturesque. The name is pronounced Mee Hahs.
