Coffins were stored in the underground catacombs of West Norwood Cemetery in the 19th century and remain there now.


West Norwood Cemetery is open daily to the public, although the catacombs can only be accessed on a guided tour. It covers 42 acres (17 hectares ). It was opened in 1837 and is still in use today.
