Oslo, Norway - 6 June 2011; The Viking Ship Museum is located on the Bygd¿y peninsula in Oslo, Norway. It is part of the Museum of Cultural History of the University of Oslo, and houses three Viking-era burial ships that were found as part of archaeological finds from a range of mound cemeteries. So much is fact. What the facts don't tell you, however, is the breathtaking impact of seeing these ships up close; they are a remarkable synthesis of practical engineering, science, art and aesthetics. In short, they are simply beautiful.
