A heavy Italian burgonet, circa 1560/70 Heavy one-piece skull with visible hammer marks. Finely roped low comb with decorative lines on both sides. Pointed one-piece peak with turned and roped edge ending in volutes embossed on the transition to the skull. Neck guard of two lames with curved edges. Original cheek piece with five piercings for hearing on each side and finely turned and roped edges (one hinge with rivets of later date). Continuous lining rivets.
