MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, California (July 11, 2022) - Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Ryan Rideout, deputy commanding general, I Marine Expeditionary Force, greets Sailors before embarking aboard a landing craft, air cushion assigned to Assault Craft Unit 5, July 11. Rideout’s visit to the 13th MEU embarked on amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) is a part of series of scheduled visits to local Marine units in the operational area. The 13th MEU is currently embarked aboard the USS Makin Island conducting routine operations in the 3rd Fleet.
