Amenhotep II (also spelled Amenephthes and Amenophis) is thought to be the Egyptian pharaoh at the time of the Exodus, the name given to the Biblical event that describes the departures of the Israelites from Egypt. Amenhotep II was the seventh pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty, during the time period now referred to as the New Kingdom. He ruled around 1410 This wall painting was uncovered in Thebes in Egypt and was copied by the French Orientalist Emile Prisse.
