Many families organizedpicnic parties and went to points of vantage from which to seethe games and athletic contests. The slopes of the park atPecousic, overlooking the Connecticut river, constituted anatural amphitheater from which to see the canoe, motor boat,and rowing races. Band concerts were held throughout the dayand evening at selected centers in the city and the park. The evening illuminations and fireworks were noteworthy,. Signing the Treaty.
