The palace was erected by the order of Nikita Khrushchev in 1961 to hold Communist party meetings, so it is unofficially known as the Kremlin Palace of Congresses. Today it serves as a concert hall. Troitskaya (Trinity) tower. The tower was built in 1499 by Italian architect Aloisio da Milano. It is the tallest tower of the Kremlin (height 80) including the ruby star.
