Again he taught, first asvice-principal, and later as principal at Freeport,N. Y., and then at Westfield, N. Y. In connection with this teaching, he has donepost-graduate work in Teachers College at ColumbiaUniversity, taking courses in History, Philosophyand Education. Since coming to North Adams, Mr. Smith hastaught History, Geography, History of Education,Economics, Zoology, Botany, and has also hadcharge of the garden work at our school and also atthe training 12 iHlarp ILouttfe JSartgtjt T}ERHAPS some day you will walk past the lit-* erature room in North Adams NormalSchool, and, looking in, you will see all the studentssitting spellbound, listening to someone who isreading. It is Miss Baright, of course, for who elsecan read so well ? How pleasant and interesting her classes werewhen all of the assigned lesson had been carefullvprepared. Miss Baright has done her part to educate thepeople of the United States, for she has taught in theSouth, the far West, the Middle West, and now isteaching in the East. She is always ready for fun and has an appro-priate story or joke for any occasion. Although Miss Baright has a great amount ofwork of her own to do, she finds time to plan andcarry out special entertainments to help the Seniorsfor which that class is very grateful. How we should like to hear her debate on theaffirmative side of this question: Resolved, That Equal Suffrage Should Become a Law byConstitutional Amendment!
