. Four Large-Flowering Polyantha or Floribunda Roses These four new Polyantha Roses are ideal for mass planting. Though the flowers are produced in the greatest abundance the individual blooms also are of fine large size. 18-411 Cheerio (Kordes, 1940.) Superb in every respect—a Rose of out- standing merit whether used for mass planting in beds or borders or to give an individual accent here or there in the garden. You will be most favorably impressed by the super- abundance of the brilliant double flowers borne in massive yet gracefully arranged flower clusters. The flower petals are clear mallow pink shading to tyrian rose at the base with the reverse or outside a luminous rose-madder that creates an effective color balance. 18-453 Pink Jewel (Kordes, 1940.) A jewel indeed—Arbutus pink shading to deep Camellia rose in the center of the densely double large blooms. The grace and artistic arrangement of the magnificent large flower clusters makes it a peer among the bedding Roses. The plants are simply covered with substantial flowers. The beauty of the flowers is enhanced by a graceful wave along the petal edges. 18-457 Red Veivef (Kordes, 1940.) A spectacular bedding Rose covered with great masses of urn-shaped buds opening to well-rounded blooms with gracefully waved petal edges. The general color effect is that of an intensely vivid crimson lake. The velvety finish of the flowers adds to the beauty and richness of the color. The outside of the flower petals is deep carmine creating a charming color contrast that heightens the effectiveness of the display. Vigorous and free blooming. 18-463 Sun mist (Kordes, 1940.) Graceful, pointed buds opening into large, fluffy, well-rounded flowers of a clear light sulphtir yellow shading to mellow canary yellow toward the base of the petals. Forms imposing large flower clusters. An outstanding bedding Rose that gives a glorious effect particularly if massed in beds or borders. A ny of the above: $ each; $ per doz
