His Grace the Duke ofBeaufort, to whom it belongs, merits the public thanks for the care withwhich he causes it to be kept, as well as several other monuments ofantiquity, which are his property, and which may be considered asnational ornaments. This Abbey is moreover still applied to a sort ofreligious use, the keeping of it being intrusted to a poor widow, who byshewing it, gains a comfortable livelihood.
