For in-stance, the yellow pine so much usedfor building in some parts carries an ex-cessive amount of moisture, and topaint direct on the green surface iscourting failure. It has been found by-experience that the best method ofhandling this particular wood is to letit weather for some months. This treat-ment hardens the natural sap and eva-porates much of the water.
