Themasonry is hammer-dressed stone and dressed ashlar. On the south side of the main corridors are twoblocks that project to the south, and between themare two class-rooms, also entering from these cor-ridors, with a theatre for operations in rear of thecentral block, while immediately to the south of allthis are the old buildings of Watsons Hospital, re-modelled for administrative purposes. The Surgical Hospital forms a pile of buildingwith a frontage of 4S0 feet, combining a picturesquegroup of round towers, and corbelled tourelles, overall of which rises the lofty spire.
