Sheep on the shoreline of Glenuig Bay, Scotland

Three sheep walk past the seaweed laden Glenuig Bay, Scotland at low tide. Sheep and seaweed harvesting both played a major part in the history of the HIghland clearances and this photograph holds memories of these days when sheep were brought in by rich landowners to display the crofters because they were considered to be more profitable. Similarly the profit that had once existed for the rich estates in using crofting labour to market seaweed also disappeared.
