Despite the length of distributing lines, the steam supplyfrom the incinerator has proved more than sufficient tosupply all of the needs of the shops and club house. Thecompany, however, was fortunate enough to find a profit-able market for its surplus produce by selling steam to aneighbor—Trommers Brewery. This outside pipe is 5 diameter and about 1800 ft. long. LIGHTING SYSTEM Although the shops and inspection shed enjoy far moredaylight than is found in most plants of this character,equal care was given to provide them with plenty of arti-ficial light, not only for auxiliary use on dark days, but forgood night work, too. Current is received through a 600-volt direct-current feeder leading to the main switchboardin the machine shop, and is carried
