Mr. Emerywas born in 1869 at Chatham, Mass., wherehe spent the major part of his early was educated in the grammar andhigh schools of Chatham, graduatingwith honors. He entered business lifeearly. After service with several businessinterests in the Pittsburgh district, he en-tered the employ of the Westinghouse AirBrake Company in September, 1892, wherehe held various positions of trust and re-sponsibility, finally being elected secretaryand treasurer in 1909.
