UK Uncut hold protests over the coffee chain Starbucks and the recent news of their tax avoidance in the UK.


On December 8, 2012, members of the campaign group UK Uncut held widespread protests and demonstrations against Government cuts. A group of campaigners held protests at two Starbucks outlets to display their anger at the recent news of the coffee chains tax avoidance in the UK. The group closed one outlet on Bold Street in Liverpool, then later held protests inside a Starbucks in the main shopping area of Liverpool. Merseyside Police described the protest as peaceful and said that no arrests were made.
