Doctors at the National Cancer Institute conduct research into the field of heat therapy. Cancer cells may be destroyed by extremely high temperatures while leaving healthy cells unharmed. This therapy is only useful for certain kinds of cancer, and is most effective when used alongside conventional therapies. It is not in widespread use.
