A chiselled German pillow sword Circa 1740. Double-edged thrusting blade with flat ridges. The base of the blade with remains of gilt ornamental etching with inscription on both sides: "ACHTE MICH NICHT GERING ICH BIN EIN GUTE KLING" ("Don´t disregard me, I am a fine blade"). Part-gilt iron knuckle-bow hilt with chiselled mascarons between scrolling leaves. Turk's heads and grip wrapped with (darkened) silver wire.
