Wales Pembrokeshire Nevern Pentre Ifan Cromlech
Ifan is the most famous Bronze Age megalithic site in Wales. Dating back to about 3000BC, the stones of the burial chamber are perched on a hilltop a huge 16ft long capstone that is supported by the tips of three large upright stones. The delicate appearance of the structure belies its strength, as the balancing capstone is estimated to weigh more than 16 tons.
