Venice is a popular tourist destination in the North of Italy. The main mode of transport in Venice is by boat. Although there is a train station and airport, some parts of the town is only accessible by water which creates a unique atmosphere. The grand canal that runs through the centre of the town of Venice. Goods where delivered to various parts of the town and delivered by hand from the boats. Due to not having cars, the town felt old fashioned. A gondolier resting on a bridge over one of Venice's canals looking at other boats on the canal. The gondolas are popular for tourists and there was a lot of traffic on the canals. If you stood still long enough in St Marks Square, the pigeons would find a place to perch.
