Lukomir is the highest altitude and most remote seasonally inhabitated village in Bosnia an Herzegovina. It lies directly above the Rakitnica canyon with an elevation of 1495 m. Next to the stonehouses is a graveyard with stećci, monumental medieval tombstones, that are found all around in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The village is protected as a national monument.
