INSECTS AFFECTING MAN AND ANIMALS STATUS OF THE SCREW-WORM (Cochliomyia hominivorax) IN THE SOUTHWEST During the period July 28 - August 3, a total of 13 infestations was reported from TEXAS, 31 from NEW MEXICO and 1 from OKLAHOMA. Specimens were reported from 12 counties in Texas, 10 counties in New Mexico and 1 county in Oklahoma. Screw- worm was reported for the first time this year from Gray and Red River Couties, Texas, and Bryan County, Oklahoma.
