The Large Gas Dome Is a particular feature of this furnace in adding to the capacity of thesize of the combustion chamber, and also materially increasing thepower of the furnace by giving additional radiating surface. This gasdome is a solid casting made in one piece without a bolted bottom, andwhere the flue bolts to the steel plate radiator there are provided heavycast-iron flanges, to protect the edges of the steel from the intense heatof the combustion when the furnace is fired hard.
