A Victorian portrait of Samuel Andrew , Sailmaker of Spital Bridge, Whitby. As well as making sails, Andrew also operated a coal business with at least one collier (coal carrier) in his ownership. His sailmaking business was in a building still in situ but now used as private dwellings.
