Nguni oxen, near Bonnievale, Western Cape, South Africa.

Nguni cattle are indiginous to South Africa. They are extremely hardy in well adapted to south african conditions. They have a natural resistance to many tick-bourne diseases and the breed is known for it's fertility. The skin patterns are distinctive and much sought after. The skins are used in traditional clothing of some black tribes, as rugs and in upholstery.
