Written on the top of the photograph is "Cruise in my St. Olave's Yarmouth dinghy bound from Southampton to Poole. Windbound and becalmed we put into an unvisited bay in the Isle of Wight and get beds for the night at a small inn top of the hill." Dover Hoskins is indicated with an arrow - the man standing on the shore.
