Legong Kraton male and female Balinese dancers, Bali

The Balinese Legong dance is the most popular and often appears in tourist shows. This dance was developed in Peliatan. The standard dance danced by two men and a leaning legong. Leaning his debut, then followed two who danced legong legong Lasem. Repertoire with three dancers known as the Legong Kraton. This takes the basic dance from branch Panji story (the 12th century and the 13th, the Kadiri Kingdom), which is about the desire king (duke) Lasem (now in Rembang District) for the proposed Rangkesari, daughter of the kingdom of Daha (Kediri), whom he kidnapped. The daughter of the duke refused his proposal because he was bound by Raden Panji from Kahuripan. Knowing his brother was kidnapped, the king of Kadiri, a brother of the princess Rangkesari, declared war and goes to Lasem. Before the war, the Duke Lasem must face attacks including the deadly bird garuda. He manages to escape but later dies in the battle against the king of Daha.
