She la having- a garden nlanted with the flowers of northern Europe. At the Villa Hvidore on the outskirts of Copenhagen she has one of the finest collections of the flora of Scandi- navia that have ever been got to- gether, says the Chicago Tribune, and she has long been anxious to introduce many of these hardy plants into Eng- land. Before her recent visit to her Danish home she consulted Lord Redesdale, who was responsible for the original laying out of the Sandringham gar- dens, and he agreed with her that the idea was feasible. About 300 plants and shrubs selected by the queen her- self have followed her back to Eng- land and are now being planted in a corner of the Sandringham grounds. The place for the garden has been selected so that she can see it from her windows and watch the progress of her northern blooms. Two Danish gardeners are coming over to look after the new experiment and if the plants flourish a great many more will be added during
