Drying fish


Dried fish, which is made by drying in the sun, is the main source of livelihood for the people of Bhairab district of Bangladesh. A stage is built 6 feet above the ground and netted 8 feet above the stage to prevent disturbance of birds. Dry fish business is going on almost throughout the year, Many types of fish are processed here, which has a good impact on the livelihood of the day labourers. Hundreds of people work here daily. Daily 250 to 300 kilograms of dried fish are processed here. Workers work everyday from 8am to 4pm. Each worker gets a full day's wages of pounds.
