He at once erected finebuildings on the premises, tiled, fenced, and other-wise improved the land. In 1883, be purchasedhis fathers interest, tlie tract now being ownedby J. D. and J. H. Mellinger, ecpially. In the pastnine years about two hundred and eighty acreshave been .sold at from $75 to $100 per acre. Theremaining land is considered worth not less than$125 per acre. JSIr.
