Charles Rolls Memorial sculpture, unveiled on 12th July 2022, at Hengistbury Head, Dorset UK - three-sided pyramid in stainless steel

honour an aviation pioneer who tragically became the first to die in the country in a powered flight. Charles Rolls, who co-founded car manufacturer Rolls-Royce, was killed at Britain’s inaugural international aviation meeting at Southbourne aerodrome in 1910. The memorial displays text and graphics which describe the events linked to advances in aviation, such as the Spitfire and the Airbus A350, both powered by Rolls-Royce aero engines. Spitfires and Hurricanes powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine defended the skies over Britain in 1940
