The educational advantages of Claude Beck were somewhat limited,owing to the fact that it was early necessary for him to become self-supporting, but he attended the schools of Young America, made themost of his opportunities, and, being ambitious and industrious, man-aged to acquire a much better education than many who had much betterchances. When still an infant he was brought by his mother to Casscounty, and here when still a lad he began his career as an yet in his teens he started operations on a tract of rented land. FRANK V.
