To che New York YachtClub, the oldest and leading yachting or-ganization in this country, was entrustedthe honor of making the arrangementsnecessary to bring the impending struggleto a fair and impartial issue, and well didthey perform their task. The gallantvisitor was consulted on every point,and every concession that courtesy and on, off, and before the wind. Over thiscourse the sloop is supposed to have a slightadvantage, as comparatively smooth waterand light winds are generally the rule onthese waters. The second and outside course, as itis called, is a twenty-mile thrash to wind-ward from the Sandy Hook or ScotlandLightship, according to the direction of thewind, with a run back.
