Her wrecked and crushed-in bows present a mass of shadow from which theeye is led most skilfully to the crowd of fishwives,their men-folk, and other onlookers who gazecuriously at her, and who are silhouetted againsta large liner going out to sea. It is a splendidlydesigned plate, and the main masses of the com-position are beautifully placed.
