The steps to their realiza-tion must, however, be organic; growth must proceed from acentre outwards, from simple beginnings to the utmost ex-pansion the future may conceivably realize; so that the wastethat accompanies unforeseen expansion may be avoided. For a college of the proportions indicated, a differentiationof function in its various buildings is essential.
