Tal Abyad, October 2019. Turkish forces target a mortar and a vehicle carrying ammunition belonging to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on the west of Tel Abyad during their ongoing military offensive against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the People Protection Unit (YPG) in northern Syria, on the east of the Euphrates. The ongoing Operation Peace Spring has been launched by Turkey on 9 th October with the stated purpose to push the YPG from the Turkish border and to create a safe zone in northern Syria for the return of Syrian refugees
